The International Society for Aerosols in Medicine (ISAM) was founded in 1970 with the objective to stimulate interdisciplinary cooperation and exchange of information in all aspects of aerosol research. The ISAM Congress has developed into one of the largest pulmonary drug delivery and medical aerosol events worldwide. It offers a high-level program for scientists of different disciplines, clinicians, pharmacists and all respiratory healthcare professionals working in this area. Asthma is one of the focussing areas of the ISAM Congress and therefore its outcomes are considered very important for the goals of the myAirCoach project. Furthermore, the presentations of innovative research approaches on the effects of inhaled aerosols and pulmonary drug delivery will provide crucial feedback for the development of the software components and sensing modules foreseen by the myAirCoach Project.
